Battersby to Danby Walk

Dropping Down at the Start of the River Esk

Dropping Down at the Start of the River Esk

I frequently use the Esk Valley line and having been greeted by much enthusiasm as I show people round have been collecting a recording of my best trips. Last Sunday my trip took me across much of the Esk Valley dropping onto the moors via the old railway line at Battersby up into phenomenal views, through the moors to the source of the Esk and down along the river via view out to the sea at Danby beacon making use of the first and last trains of the day.

A full record with all photos can be found at www.awalkerstale.com/2015/07/battersby-to-grosmont-following-river.html and anyone promoting this wonderful line can use any of the images as they wish.
